Instead of pondering over what kind of breakfast meat to eat today, I decided to wait a couple hours and have a late breakfast – or early lunch – at my favorite Tuesday place, Tijuana Flats. Like many restaurants, they have a “taco tuesday” special. There’s is called “Tijuana Tuesdaze” – 2 tacos, chips, and drink for five bucks and change. Add a draft beer and your looking at eight bones… not bad! Bonus – you have 15 hot sauces to choose from, and none of them are made of bacon.
Later that afternoon, I held some business meetings at my favorite happy hour join, Salt7. It’s an upscale restaurant featuring prime steaks, sushi, raw bar, cocktails, remarkable wines and nightlife…and during happy hour, they’ve got $3 drafts, $4 wines, $5 cocktails, and a happy hour menu with everything $7 and under. Today I had the USDA Prime Sliders – they come on soft pretzel buns and a delicious dipping sauce
That damn sauce is so good, I’d put it on anything. I wonder what how bacon would taste dipped in the stuff…well, I guess I won’t be able to find out for another 40 days or so.
